Most women who find their way here have already tried to fix their anxiety.
They've read the books. Downloaded the apps. Done the breathing exercises. Understood, intellectually, that their nervous system is dysregulated and why.
Maybe you have been to therapy and tried medication. Or just tried harder - more discipline, more routine, more self-improvement.
And the anxiety is still there. Humming underneath everything. Quiet but constant. Mostly hidden. Exhausting.
If that's you - I want you to know something important before we start.
You are not the problem. You have not been doing it wrong. The tools you've tried were probably good tools. They just weren't reaching the right place.
Because high-functioning anxiety doesn't live in your thoughts. It lives in your body. In your nervous system. In the part of you that learned, a very long time ago, that it had to stay alert to be safe. That rest was risky. That approval needed to be earned. That being too much - too needy, too emotional, too visible - had consequences.
Your anxiety was not a malfunction. It was a nervous system doing its job. Keeping you safe. Helping you belong. Making sure you were liked, needed, included.
It worked! People liked you, needed you, kept you close.
But the version of you they kept close - wasn't really you.
The Mask That Made Me is different
Most anxiety support asks you to manage your anxiety better. To cope with it, contain it, work around it. But I created The Mask That Made Me to ask something different. To ask you to get curious about it. Not to fight the mask - but to understand it. Where it came from. What it was protecting. What it has cost you.
And what might be possible if you stopped performing quite so hard.
This isn't about becoming a different person. It's about getting reacquainted with the one who's been there all along - underneath the achieving, the helping, the over-explaining, the keeping everyone comfortable.
She's still there. A little tired. But there.
The high-masking woman
If you are someone who masks - who reads rooms, adapts, presents the version of yourself that feels safest in any given situation - this course was made with you particularly in mind.
Because here's what masking does over time. It works so well that you start to lose access to your own internal experience. You've spent so long monitoring what everyone else needs that you've lost the habit of checking in with yourself.
You don't always know what you feel until you've checked it against someone else's reaction. Your internal compass has been overridden so many times that you've stopped consulting it.
This isn't a character flaw. It's the cost of years of performing.
And it means that change for you isn't just about managing anxiety.
It's about rebuilding self trust. It's about learning to notice what you actually feel, want and need, without immediately editing it into something more acceptable.
"Hi, I'm Tory, a relational therapist and founder of Yourstory Therapy. I've spent years working with women who function beautifully on the outside and feel completely disconnected on the inside. Women who mask their anxiety so well that even they don't always recognise it."
Maybe you're not ready for therapy or able to access it right now. But that doesn't mean you have to keep carrying this alone.
About the Course
The Mask That Made Me is a five module self-paced course built around one idea: that understanding your anxiety is more powerful than just coping with it. That when you know where your mask came from, what it's been protecting and what activates it - everything starts to make more sense.
It isn't a fix. It's a gentle, compasionate therapist-led framework that can help you understand your story, build self-trust and find your way back to yourself.
At your own pace. In your own time. Without any pressure to perform.

- You're looking for a quick fix or a simple step by step system.
- You aren't ready to look inward yet .
What's inside
Module 01 - YOUR MASK & WHAT IT'S PROTECTING
We start by looking at what an anxiety mask actually is and why yours made complete sense given everything you've been through. You'll explore the seven mask types, the nervous system responses that drive them, and how to begin recognising your own pattern with curiosity rather than criticism.
Module 02 - WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
In this module we explore your nervous system history, the early experiences and unmet needs that shaped you and the core beliefs that formed underneath it all.
This is the module where things start to make sense including, for some women, the ways in which being Neurodivergent has added an extra layer to the mask.
Module 03 - WHAT ACTIVATES YOU
You're not overreacting. Your nervous system is responding to something real. We explore the specific triggers that switch you into protective mode - sensory cues, relational dynamics, emotional shifts, thought patterns - and why being able to see them is the first real act of self-trust.
Module 04 - MAKING SENSE OF YOUR STORY
This is the heart of the course. We move through healing past wounds, shifting from self-protection to self-connection, reclaiming agency, rewriting the narratives you've been living by and beginning the quiet work of rebuilding a sense of self that belongs to you, not your anxiety.
Module 05 - YOUR ROADS TO SAFETY
Safety isn't the absence of anxiety. It's having a reliable way back to yourself when it spikes. In this final module we build your personalised toolkit - five roads to safety matched to your nervous system and your specific mask type. Practical, grounded and yours to return to whenever you need it.
Plus - A DOWNLOADABLE PDF GUIDE
Included with the course is a reflective pdf guide - yours to download and work through alongside each module or return to whenever you need it.
Inside you'll find the key ideas from each module summarised clearly, space to take notes in your own words, reflection questions to sit with and a daily body check-in practice. There's also a personalised safety plan and a toolkit of starting points matched specifically to your mask type.
