Roman Adventure QAL and Devotional Journey
What better way to prepare to celebrate Easter than to focus on God's word while making a beautiful quilt at the same time? Join me for the Roman Adventure QAL and Devotional Journey to do just that!
The devotional journey
The book of Romans is one of the most challenging in the New Testament, but there's so much to learn in its 16 chapters that it's well worth the effort. Together, let's spend a few weeks immersed in Paul's writing, learning the lessons that have been preserved for us.
Over the 40 daily devotions, we'll look at things like how we define ourselves, thankfulness in tough situations, the foundation of a life of faith, being imperfect, and so much more. The apostle Paul didn't pull his punches in his letter to the Roman believers, and we get to benefit from his wisdom.
The daily devotions will arrive in your inbox each Monday to Saturday from March 5 (Ash Wednesday) until April 19 (the Saturday before Easter Sunday). They include all the relevant Bible text, so you won't need to open another app or have your Bible handy.
“This was a remarkable Lenten Journey. I have been blessed by these daily pauses. I have been challenged, motivated, helped and encouraged as I was called to consider what it means to walk with Jesus through the biblical accounts Leanne has shared. I am better for this journey.” Joy B
The Fountain Quilt
Along with the daily devotions, we're going to make a beautiful quilt together! The Fountain is appropriate for confident beginners (and up!), and uses a mix of techniques - machine piecing, paper piecing, and fusible machine applique. If you've never done paper piecing or machine applique, this is a great time to learn, as I have videos to walk you through both techniques.
After you register, you'll receive an email with the fabric requirements and the cutting instructions. The cutting instructions show clearly which cuts are needed for which blocks, so you can decide if you want to cut everything ahead of time or wait and cut for each set of blocks as you go.
With 13 blocks in the quilt, there is time for the QAL to go at a relaxed pace, with time allotted at the end for catch up (because life always happens!) and for the final quilt top assembly.
About me
I've been sharing weekly devotions since I started my blog, Devoted Quilter, in 2013. I love connecting the Bible with snippets of everyday life in ways that help us understand how relevant the Bible is to our lives. My brain makes odd connections between biblical themes and things like rhythmic gymnasts competing at the Olympics or my annual trek into the woods to go blueberry picking.
I've been a quilter since 1997 and a quilt pattern designer since 2015. I love everything about the quilt making process, except basting, and would happily spend all day in my sewing room!
