The most important languages of the world and their linguistic families

Languages develop like any other living organism. Those that have a common ancestor (called protolaguages) are part of the same linguistic family. A family of languages can be divided into different subfamilies: for example, Dutch and English are West Germanic languages, a subdivision of Germanic languages which in turn are a branch belonging to the large Indo-European family. In this treatise we will talk about the roots of many of the most important languages in the world and in the same way about their linguistic families.
