Saddle Storms - Stronger Than The Storm
Stronger Than the Storm | Saddle Storms | Saddle Storms Album
This is the one that started everything. Stronger Than the Storm isn't a motivational poster. It's a body count of every storm that tried — abuse, heartbreak, homelessness, loss, standing at every kind of edge a soul can find — and a quiet, iron declaration that none of them finished the job.

Six generations of Wyoming women who never bowed their heads. A bloodline built in sagebrush and hard winters and the kind of stubborn that doesn't negotiate. When the ground gives way she doesn't reach for comfort. She hears the bloodline. And she gets back up. This is the last song on the Saddle Storms album. It was always going to end here. Because no matter what comes before it — the whiskey nights, the goodbyes, the barbed wire, the blizzards, the hospital beds — this is what's left when the storm passes. Still standing. Still breathing. Still hers. Stronger than the storm. I come from storms. Sometimes you don't have a choice but to be stronger than the storm. I have been kicked down and knocked around more times than I can count but I will forever get back up. Original by Saddle Storms

[Verse 1] Abuse came knocking, thought it had me on the ground, Heartbreak followed, tried to drive me out of town. I've been homeless, I've been broken, I've been left behind, Stood at every kind of edge a soul can find. Watched the ones I love get taken before their time, Still I woke up on the other side and claimed what's mine. [Pre-Chorus] When the world goes dark and breathing isn't free, Four words remind me who I was born to be. [Chorus] The storm might take the battle every now and then, But I wake up every morning and I rise again. Still standing in the wreckage with my boots on solid ground, Bumps and bruises, scrapes and scars — I didn't go down. I come from people who were stronger than the storm, And long as I can breathe that's what I was born. Stronger than the storm. I come from storms. [Verse 2] Six generations deep and every one stands tall, People who planted roots in Wyoming through it all. Never left well enough alone when it was worth the fight, Handed down a quiet strength that carries me tonight. Mom and all the ones before her never bowed their head— And neither will I fall while I've still got breath. [Pre-Chorus] When my knees start shaking and the ground gives way, I hear the bloodline saying I was built for this day. [Bridge] You can count my scars and you can name my storms, Every single one of them helped shape this form. A woman who set her jaw and didn't walk away, Who said you haven't beaten me at the end of every day. Through the losses and the heartbreak and the roads that had no name, Every storm that thought it had me never could quite claim This life, this name, this stubborn standing flame. [Final Chorus] The storm might take the battle every now and then, But I wake up every morning and I rise again. Still standing in the wreckage with my boots on solid ground, Bumps and bruises, scrapes and scars — I didn't go down. I come from people who were stronger than the storm, And long as I can breathe that's what I was born. Stronger than the storm. [Outro] It won't last forever. It never does. I'm still standing. I always was. Stronger than the storm.
