Yuruk (Yörük) villages in North Macedonia are traditional, often remote, communities primarily found in the mountainous eastern regions. These communities, of Turkic descent, maintain a 600-year-old lifestyle, focusing on sheep farming, tobacco cultivation, and weaving, with distinct colorful clothing. Many remain in traditional, rustic mountain homes.

The Yuruks in North Macedonia are distinct from the majority population, often living in isolated areas while preserving their unique cultural heritage.

They have preserved their Turkish dialect, traditions, and family structure for six centuries.

The traditional piece performed right before Aya's modern dance sequence at the mountain festival in DJ Ahmet is the Hıdırellez Festival folk dance, featuring regional Yörük and Balkan Turkish folklore music.

The performance replicates the real-world International Hıdırellez Spring Festival, a massive cultural celebration traditionally held in the village of Çalıklı in North Macedonia. This festival is highly protected as part of UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The scene captures local Yörük musicians playing instruments like the zurna (flute-like reed) and davul (drum), playing fast-paced Balkan line-dance music right before the modern techno tracks take over.
