Proof of the Afterlife

If you want to know about a place you've never been or think you've never been - most of us don't recall
travels in infancy—there are four things you can do:

• You can speculate, like Plato, on the world outside the cave in which he saw himself. Myths, allegories, and sci-fi do this too
• You can talk to someone who’s been there as a tourist and returned to share stories in words and pictures.
•  You can read travel brochures and book a passage, keeping in mind they’re written to sell a product and sign you up with their franchise.
•  You can talk to someone you know and trust who’s there, knows you, and can help you understand that world in ways that make sense.

These are letters of a teacher, pastor, administrator, and frequent travel guide who passed into that world early in 2013 and has remained in touch with this one. They are letters received by his eldest son with whom he lived in his last four weeks and describe his arrival, finding his bearings in a new dimension and looking back on the one he left with insight and clarity.

They reflect his continued vibrancy in the stream of faith in which he lived and taught without being limited by speculation, the short-term stay of most near-death experiences, or the strictures of religious creeds and franchises.

They are shared here to provide hope to those who can live clearly and purposely in this world in anticipation of the one to which all are going whether they believe it or not. They offer help to those missing loved ones to establish links with those they love who are only a thought/prayer away.
