On the seventh day, the Israelites were to circle the city seven times. After the seventh circuit, the priests were to blow their trumpets, and the people were to give a loud shout. Joshua assured the people that when they did this, the walls of Jericho would collapse.

The Israelites followed these instructions precisely. On the seventh day, after the seventh circuit and the sounding of the trumpets, the people shouted, and the walls of Jericho fell down. The Israelites then entered the city and captured it.
