Episode 8 of the African elephant wildlife film series, In the CROSSROADS OF GIANTS - “TIME OF RAIN”.

Rainy seasons are meant to come once a year in most of Africa. Often these rains are late, scarce, or sometimes don’t even show up at all. Botswana’s northeast is a semi-dry region most of the year. The pans that gather and hold natural water (rain) are shallow and the water in these pans dries up quite quickly - over a few months. This causes challenges. For the elephants as well as other wildlife seeking water.

Around Elephant Sands there are often too many elephants. This is due to them migrating through from neighbouring countries as well as the fact that, even though elephants are hunted in Botswana, there is almost no poaching whatsoever.

The rainy season brings out other wildlife; giraffe, antelope, lions… There is a sense of calm that envelops northeast Botswana when the rains come.

In the CROSSROADS OF GIANTS is an African elephant wildlife documentary series like no other. Elephant life is filmed up close with a fresh, immersive approach. It’s like being there.
It is possible, that after watching In the CROSSROADS OF GIANTS, you may never look at an African elephant in the same way again.
