Stayers, Leavers, & Quitters: Teacher Retention in Challenging Environments
Stayers, Leavers, & Quitters is a research study on teacher retention. The author, Dr. Gary Robson, presents a case study of alternatively certified educators working in hard-to-staff Native American reservation schools in the United States. He looks at factors that lead to teachers' staying or leaving the schools. Specifically, he identifies occupational, cultural, and living condition issues that lead to teachers' staying or leaving their challenging environments.
