The 504 Plan Toolkit
The 504 Plan Toolkit (Grades K–12)
A parent’s step-by-step guide to getting, and keeping, the accommodations your child needs at school.
A Section 504 plan can give your child extra time, breaks, preferential seating, a health plan, a quiet space and other supports. It covers the classroom, and also lunch, recess, transportation, clubs and sports. Getting a plan that actually works means knowing your rights, putting requests in writing and following up.
This toolkit walks you through the whole process in plain language, from your first concern to a plan every teacher follows.
