♫ The Music ♫
Star Trek may seem a far cry from Celtic cables but my favourite TNG (The Next Generation) episode of all time is “The Inner Light” (Season 5 Episode 25 if you want to check it out). Captain Picard learns the flute during his experience on the planet Kataan and plays the most beautiful melody ~ composed by Jay Chattaway ~ that is very worthy of cables. It is a tune of hope.
Inner Light are our Holiday socks for 2020 - garlands and wreaths and toasty toes, oh my!
Features:
These toe-up socks begin with a barn toe.
The cables on the instep and leg are mirrored on the right and left sock.
The sole is worked in Stockinette stitch (knit every round).
The gusset increases are worked at the sides of the sole.
The heel is turned using a short row heel cap which means no picking up stitches.
The heel flap is worked in a standard slipped-stitch pattern.
Sample shown in West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4-Ply (75% wool, 25% nylon; 437yds / 400m per 100g) in Cayenne Pepper 510 .
