32 - Sofia SLWC (Chapter 1)

Bevor sie losgehen, passiert Sofia zu Hause ein kleiner Unfall und sie verstaucht sich den Fuß. Anna macht sich sofort Sorgen und fragt, ob alles in Ordnung ist, aber Sofia will die Pläne nicht verderben und auch die Angebote nicht verpassen, deshalb behauptet sie, es sei nichts Ernstes. Um das zu beweisen, macht sie ein paar Schritte und sagt, dass sie ganz normal laufen kann.

Zwei Stunden später kommen sie mit ein paar Einkaufstaschen nach Hause zurück. Der Ausflug war zwar schön, aber Sofia kann ihre Schmerzen nicht mehr verbergen. Die Schmerzen im Knöchel sind durch das viele Laufen deutlich schlimmer geworden.

Als Anna das bemerkt, hilft sie ihrer Cousine, sich hinzusetzen, und zieht ihr vorsichtig den Schuh und die Socke aus. Beim Untersuchen sieht sie, dass der Knöchel geschwollen ist und sich langsam verfärbt – ein klares Zeichen dafür, dass sich die Verletzung verschlimmert hat.

Da Anna weiß, dass Sofia Krankenhäuser nicht mag, versucht sie zunächst selbst zu helfen. Sie legt Eis auf den Knöchel und geht schnell zur nächsten Apotheke, um eine Crepe-Binde zu kaufen.

Nach etwa fünfzehn Minuten kommt sie zurück, nimmt das Eis weg, stellt ein paar Fragen und beginnt dann vorsichtig, Sofias Fuß zu bandagieren.

Sofia versucht ruhig zu bleiben, gibt aber zu, dass sie ins Krankenhaus gehen wird, wenn es bis zum Ende des Abends nicht besser wird.

Anna stimmt still zu und denkt schon, dass das vielleicht unvermeidlich ist.

Sofia and her cousin Anna are getting ready to go to the mall. Between laughs and comments about the sales, they touch up their makeup and try on a few pairs of shoes.

Before they leave, Sofia has a small accident at home and ends up twisting her ankle. Anna gets worried right away and asks if she's okay, but Sofia, determined not to ruin their plans or miss out on the sales, insists it's nothing serious. To prove it, she takes a few steps and says she can walk just fine.

Two hours later, they arrive back home with a few shopping bags. The outing was fun, but Sofia can no longer hide her discomfort. The pain in her ankle has gotten much worse after all the walking.

Noticing this, Anna helps her sit down and carefully removes her shoe and sock. When she checks the ankle, she sees that the area is swollen and starting to turn purple – a clear sign that the injury has gotten worse.

Knowing that Sofia doesn't like hospitals, Anna decides to help the best she can for now. She puts some ice on the ankle and quickly goes out to buy a crepe bandage at the nearest pharmacy.

About fifteen minutes later, she comes back, removes the ice, asks a few questions, and carefully starts wrapping Sofia's foot.

Sofia tries to stay calm but admits that if it doesn't get better by the end of the night, she'll have to go to the hospital.

Anna silently agrees, already thinking that it might be unavoidable.
