ISTO "Heaven Will Be Worth The Journey" (advanced)

Of all the Bluegrass guitar solos I've written, this is one of my all-time favorites. It's snappy, it has sass, and it screams Bluegrass!

ITSO (In the style of) "Heaven Will Be Worth The Journey" is a solo I created for the song of the same name with the Gilbert Family, an acoustic Gospel group I've been singing and playing with since around 2013.

Within this song, you'll find loads of licks (and a couple of cool arpeggios based around my Bluegrass Guitarpeggios course) in the chord shapes of D, G, and A. The open strings will serve as a way to disconnect from one area of the fretboard to the next as you move away from the more beginner fret areas (the first 5 frets).

Remember, the best way to learn a long, blistering solo like this one is to break each section down into manageable, bite-sized chunks. Once you do, you'll be amazed at how many "little licks" make up such a huge solo.

In addition to the straight MP3 of the solo, I've included a metronome version as well in this tab pack so you'll be able to follow along without any trouble. As always, the PDF and Guitar Pro files are included as well.
