ZTZ-96

The ZTZ-96, also known as the Type 96, is a main battle tank (MBT) developed by China for the People's Liberation Army (PLA). It serves as a more affordable and widely produced alternative to the more advanced ZTZ-99 (Type 99), and has been a backbone of China’s armored forces since the 1990s. The ZTZ-96 series was designed to replace older Chinese tanks such as the Type 59, Type 69, and Type 79, and has undergone several upgrades to keep it relevant on modern battlefields.
