Mind Your Milestones - Visual Timetable
What it is
A printable, laminate-and-build visual timetable that gives your child a simple way to see what's happening in their day.
How it works
Each part of your child's routine gets its own symbol (breakfast, shoes on, school run, and so on). You laminate and cut these out, stick Velcro on the back, then arrange them on a base strip in the order your day runs.
Why it helps
Seeing what's coming is calming in a way that just being told isn't. A visible plan gives your child something reliable to check whenever they need to, which reduces anxious, controlling behaviour and eases pushback over instructions. Because it's fully adjustable, it still works on the days your routine doesn't, a sick day or a holiday just gets a different arrangement of symbols, not no timetable at all.
How to set it up
- Download and print the PDF, then laminate the whole sheet.
- Cut out each individual image using scissors or a guillotine.
- Stick a small circle of Velcro onto the back of each image.
- Stick a soft strip of Velcro onto another laminated sheet, this is your base strip. Mount it on a wall, or leave it loose to move around the house.
- Arrange the images on the base strip in the order of your child's routine.
- Build and adjust it together. As routines shift, you and your child can peel off, swap, or reorder the images between you.
