Title: The Crows and the Snake

Genre: Children’s Fable / Picture Book

Themes: Kindness, Acceptance, Diversity, Friendship, Bravery, and Not Judging by Appearances.

Synopsis

The story is set in a peaceful forest and follows a family of crows—Mr. and Mrs. Crow and their five chicks. One day, Mr. Crow discovers a small, harmless snake named Sammy who is lost and frightened. Instead of seeing him as a threat, Mr. Crow and his wife welcome Sammy into their family. Although the crow chicks are initially wary of Sammy because he looks different, their parents encourage them to befriend him.

Sammy proves to be a wise and knowledgeable companion. He teaches the chicks about the forest, safety, and his own snake family. One evening, a hungry fox approaches the nest looking for a meal. Sammy senses the danger and bravely coils himself around the fox's legs, driving the predator away. The crows are grateful for his bravery and quick thinking. From that day on, the crows and Sammy remain best friends, living harmoniously in a community built on mutual respect and appreciation for their differences.

Moral / Takeaway

The story emphasizes that appearances can be deceiving and that we should not judge others based on their looks or origins. It highlights the value of diversity, the rewards of kindness, and the strength found in unexpected friendships.
