A Moment of Zen

A Moment of Zen was inspired by the reminder not to let the world make us hard—to remain soft, open, and capable of finding beauty even when life gives us reasons to close ourselves off.

Created with living flowers from Taiwan, watercolor, and photography, this piece captures one of those fleeting moments of stillness before the arrangement itself disappeared.

My Taiwan ikebana postcards are miniature reproductions of original mixed-media artwork combining living floral arrangements, watercolor, and photography.

The flowers and plants featured in each piece were sourced from flower farms in Taiwan. As a third-generation ikebana artist in my family, I've always been fascinated by the challenge of preserving living art. An arrangement may exist for only three to six days; these postcards capture something that otherwise disappears.

Each piece is printed on luxurious 285gsm metallic etching paper, giving the artwork subtle pearlescent, metallic, and iridescent effects. Its lightly textured surface is reminiscent of traditional fine-art papers used in intaglio printmaking and is particularly beautiful for reproducing paintings, drawings, and photographic artwork.
