Eclipse Sky

During a total eclipse, the moon completely obscures the disc of the sun, briefly turning the day to night.  Stars become visible, as does the sun's corona which flares out around the disc.  Simple piecing and applique create this striking quilted version.

Finished quilt will measure 55 1/2" x 71 1/2".

Fabric requirements:

• light grey:  1 7/8 yards
• medium grey: 1 3/8 yards
• black:  1 yard
• white: 1 1/8 yard
• yellow: 1 yard
• backing 3 3/4 yards
• binding: 1/2 yard
• batting: 60" x 76"
• Soft Fuse fusible web: 2 yards 18" wide OR 1 yard of 36" wide OR substitute similar lightweight fusible web
