Author Tonie J. Short has woven, Limelight!, the sequel to Sherri’s Song. This beautiful tapestry of emotions is sure to be rated five stars. This novel has many great storylines. One of the more prominent is, Sherri Thomas can sing like an angel. Once Raymond Rodriguez, a music mogul from New York, discovers Sherri writes music as well, he sees dollar signs. Raymond flies Sherri to New York and introduces her to entertainment stars, fast cars, extravagant parties and expensive gifts, telling Sherri he can make her an international star if she signs with his label. There is one catch: he wants Sherri to remain in New York.
Dee, Sherri’s oldest sister, is taking care of their difficult, wheelchair bound mother, Emma. Once their father becomes ill, whom Sherri loves a lot, Dee has to take care of him as well. The pressure becomes too much for her. Taking care of both parents is taking a toll on her life. Dee needs help. There are whispers of putting their father in a home, which Sherri does not want. Sherri faces the dilemma of reaching out and grabbing her dreams, which are in finally within reach, or sacrificing her future and staying home and helping with her parents.
Author Tonie J. Short, in penning Limelight!, has written a worthy sequel to Sherri’s Song. In doing so, he has left a lasting impression on his readers as a great storyteller. This novel has a fantastic ending to a wild rollercoaster of an adventure.
