BEGINNER COURSE: “What Does Grant Ready Really Mean?”

Start Your Engine. Build Your Foundation. Get Grant Ready.

Welcome to your first official stop inside A&B Grant Readiness School.

You must have successfully made the decision to pursue funding—but before you start applying for every grant you see, we need to make sure your business, or organization is actually ready for the road ahead.

Think of grant funding like taking an important road trip.

You wouldn't leave home without knowing your destination, checking your vehicle, having enough fuel, and making sure you have the documents necessary to get where you're going. Grant funding works the same way.

Throughout this beginner course, A&B Grant Readiness School will help you move from:

“I need a grant.”

to:

“I understand what funders are looking for, I know what my organization needs, and I have a plan for becoming funding ready.”

Your $100.00 school enrollment includes your Grant Readiness Assessment Fee, as part of the overall learning experience. Your assessment will help us determine where you are currently positioned and which areas need attention as you travel through the program. After Determination of Your Grant Readiness Level, the fee will also cover your Grant Writing Referral by The Grant Writing Firm!

🚦 BEFORE YOU HIT THE GAS...

There's one rule I would emphasize heavily throughout your school:

DON'T APPLY JUST BECAUSE YOU FOUND A GRANT.

Finding a grant does not automatically mean it is the right grant for your business or organization.

Before entering the application lane, students should be able to answer:

Am I eligible?

Does this opportunity match my mission or project?

Do I have the required documentation?

Can I explain exactly how the funding will be used?

Can I meet the deadline and every application requirement?

Can I manage and document the funding if I receive it?

If the answer is NO or I DON'T KNOW, that's not necessarily a dead end.

🚧 That's your sign to stay in the Grant Readiness Lane.

🧭 YOUR FIRST ASSIGNMENT

The Pre-Trip Inspection

Before beginning Lesson 1, students should complete their A&B Grant Readiness Assessment Questionnaire.

Tell them:

Think of your assessment as your vehicle inspection before entering the funding highway.

We're checking what's already working, what's missing, and what needs attention—not judging how far along you are.

Your results will help identify the areas you should prioritize throughout the course.

🚦 KNOW YOUR READINESS LIGHT

Throughout your journey, ask yourself:

Stop and address major missing requirements before applying.

🟡 YELLOW LIGHT — PREPARING

🟢 GREEN LIGHT — READY TO MOVE FORWARD

Your foundation is stronger, and you're better prepared to evaluate appropriate funding opportunities.

⚠️ A&B ROAD RULE

Don't apply simply because you found a grant.

The goal isn't to submit the most applications. The goal is to become prepared enough to recognize opportunities that make sense for your organization and submit stronger applications when appropriate.

Grant Readiness Course Curriculum:

🏁 WHAT'S WAITING AT THE FINISH LINE?

By the end of the Beginner Grant Readiness Course, students should have more than information.

They should have the beginnings of a Grant Readiness Portfolio, including their organizational profile, funding purpose, document checklist, preliminary funding budget, grant research strategy, readiness-gap analysis, and personalized next-step plan.

That creates an important distinction for your Payhip course:

Students aren't simply watching lessons. They're building their funding vehicle as they go.

And I would use one recurring progress system throughout the entire course:

🔴 RED LIGHT — Not Ready Yet

Important requirements are missing.

🟡 YELLOW LIGHT — Almost Ready

The foundation exists, but specific areas need attention.

🟢 GREEN LIGHT — Ready to Proceed

The student has completed the applicable readiness requirements and can begin evaluating appropriate funding opportunities.
