Orophin is a unisex, versatile hat pattern featuring a trendy stranded colourwork motif. It is part of
the Haldir collection, which features a hat, cowl and pair of fingerless mitts. The name of the pattern comes from a character from the Lord of the Rings.
This hat comes in one size to fit a head circumference of about 20-22 inches or 51-56 cm.
The pattern is worked at a gauge of 28 stitches and 36 rows = 10 cm in stranded stockinette.
You’ll need approximately 45 grams of fingering weight yarn in 2 contrasting colours: 25 grams of MC and 20 grams of CC.
Yarn used in sample is Tukuwool Fingering (75% Finnsheep and 25% Texelin, 213 yards or 195 meters per 50 grams) in colourways Raku (MC) and Uupo (CC). Kits are available
in my webshop.
