Drowning Earth - Challenge Coin PREORDER

Note: This is the preorder for the Drowning Earth Challenge Coin and will not arrive until on or about January 5th 2024.

I wanted to offer something more than just the amazing paperback and hardcover copies of Drowning Earth, so I commissioned Tom Edwards to design a challenge coin for the HMS Bancroft.

While the submarine might be fictional, no dolphin crew would be complete without a challenge coin. They hold a revered place in military culture, symbolizing unity, achievement, and esprit de corps. Given for exceptional service and to boost morale, they also serve as unique collectibles that foster a sense of community. In the military world, these coins are not just tokens; they’re treasured keepsakes that tell a story.

On the front, HMS Bancroft is elegantly inscribed, complemented above by its distinctive motto: Silent Ocean Sentinel. Central to the design, a fictional Royal Navy coat of arms, adorned with a crown, pays homage to the boats rich British lineage. Given that the Bancroft’sadvanced technology hails from the United Kingdom and its homeport is the esteemed HMNB Clyde, this touch is both fitting and reverent. On either side of this emblem, twin dolphins stand guard, emblematic of the British Navy’s age-old maritime prowess and its legacy of unwavering strength and tradition. Beneath the emblem lies the silhouette of the HMS Bancroft, captured in the midst of an articulate turn to port, highlighting its innovative hull design.

On the back side of the coin, the names of the AAFEUS alliance countries – Australia, Africa, the European Union, and the United States – are etched along the outer rim. At the core, segments of each country’s flag converge, representing their interwoven destinies and collective strength. Superimposed upon this backdrop is the enigmatic logo of The Portalverse: Elemental Origins Series, the significance of which will unfold as the story progresses.

Our challenge coin aims to embody the camaraderie and excitement of Drowning Earth, making you an honorary member of the HMS Bancroft’s crew.
