This piece captures the feeling I get when I'm either alone, or in a crowd, and I disconnect from my surroundings and kind of stare into my own thoughts. Sometimes this can be staring into my memories as though I'm wading through them. They make the air feel thick and my soul sort of stretches out before me and wanders through time taking it all in, observing all the things I've done, the people I've been, the things that have been done to me, or the people I've met and seen.

Other times I get lost in the vastness of the universe, the endless meaningless chaos that somehow forms some kind of meaningful order within us.

Whatever the reason, there's a connection we all feel, I think, in these moments of disconnection....
