Crassula ovata, known by the common names of money plant, jade plant or lucky plant, is a succulent plant also used as an indoor plant that is native to South Africa. The species Pachira aquatica is also called the money plant.
It is a plant with thick branches and persistent, smooth, fleshy, oppositely arranged, green, jade-colored leaves, although, if exposed to high light, they can have a red tint. The flowers, which appear in winter, are small, pink or white and kite-shaped. This plant can easily be made into an indoor bonsai.
