Scripps has an excellent hiring process and need projection plan. Their HR concept is that if you have high standards and a reputation or value of what nurses contribute to product care you will attract qualified talented candidates. The have a system in place that gives them a projected number of people that they will need to hire. Their system keeps track of the ages and the intended retiring dates in order to ensure that they are always staffed with quality and the quantity of nurses needed. Their hiring process is a strategic one and they look at candidates based on attitude, efficiency, quality and respect. Many times Scripps also involves their current workforce in the hiring process with new candidates. Based on the information in the video Scripps has used their magnet standard of hiring for about 25 years. It was implemented during a time when there was a critical shortage of nurses.
