Killers Don't Fall In Love Episode One: Nothing In the Fridge Callum POV
Episode One: Nothing in the Fridge
(Callum vlog)
Hey… so uh.
I don’t normally do shit like this.
My name’s Callum. Most people call me Cal. I’m twenty-eight, which feels illegal to admit because I swear I was nineteen like five minutes ago. I’m a single dad. Got a twelve-year-old kid who’s smarter than me, meaner than me, and apparently nonbinary now which, yeah, still figuring that one out but we’re rolling with it.
Anyway.
I figured maybe talking into my phone like this might help me keep my head straight. Or at least keep a record of how bad things can get before they start getting worse. Feels like the kind of story someone should document.
So this is… I guess Episode One.
Life update: Fridge is empty. Power’s about to get shut off. Rent’s late again. I’m working two jobs and still somehow losing. And I just lost the one arrangement that was keeping me from completely drowning.
Tonight’s plan is simple: Find food. Keep my kid from realizing how close we are to being homeless. Pretend I’ve got everything under control.
Spoiler... I don’t.
But yeah. That’s where we’re at.
Welcome to whatever the hell this is.
Sydney Feron's Note
This is Episode One of Killers Don’t Fall in Love, a 100,000-word dark romance thriller ebook.
This story contains morally grey characters, violence, crime, trauma, toxic relationships, and themes of survival, poverty, and obsession. This is not a sweet love story. This is a story about broken people making dangerous choices and finding connection in the worst possible circumstances.
Expect alternating POVs, high emotional stakes, found-family dynamics, and a fast-paced thriller plot that unfolds on back roads, in truck stops, and in places most people try not to look too closely at.
Welcome to the chaos.
