Physically, Cellulite can occur when connective
fibers underneath the skin become weak or
lose their elasticity. It can cause the skin to
look dimpled and lumpy, usually effecting the
buttocks and thighs but can occur in other areas
as well. Hormones can also play a role in cellulite.
As estrogen decreases, blood flow to the tissue
under the skin also decreases, creating less oxygen,
resulting in lower collagen production.
But most importantly and healing, is to uncover
and work on the emotional and mental aspects
of Cellulite.
Majority of the time when we find cellulite on our
bodies we go into panic and feelings of disgust.
Then we go into shaming our self and our body,
fearing what others will think, and then anxiety
about being seen rushes in and triggers the need
to hide while we figure out how to "fix" our body.
This only causes more blame and shame on
ourselves and body.
Cellulite can be triggering and can cause
depression, lack of self confidence, cause
you to feel isolated, and feel like your body
and/or life is ruined, especially if you grew up
hearing and seeing these things from your
family and society.
Emotionally, Cellulite can represent stored
anger and self punishment, as well as feeling
like you are being held down and confined.
It can also represent lack of love in life showing
up in the Lymphatic System. The more we
focus on these things emotionally and focus
on the physical Cellulite, the more prominent
they seem, causing more fear, anxiety and shame.
Use the following journal prompts and clearing
script to help you work through and release the
negative emotions and triggers around your cellulite,
therefore releasing the attachment to them.
