Poly Motions
Poly Motions (VST3, CLAP, AUv2)
Poly Motions is a MIDI arpeggiator built around drawable gesture loops, where held notes travel along custom 8-node paths and trigger as the motion passes each point.
Instead of locking a chord into one repeating up/down pattern, Poly Motions lets you shape the loop itself. Each track has its own closed path, its own timing, and its own feel. Drag the nodes to redraw the gesture, and incoming MIDI follows that shape in real time. Rhythm comes from the path: wide loops breathe slower, tight corners hit faster, and irregular geometry creates figures that feel performed rather than pasted from a piano roll.
Up to 16 tracks can run at once in a responsive grid, or you can switch Overlap mode to layer every active path into one focused performance view. Voices can be allocated automatically, locked to the selected lane, or wrapped across the keyboard so different notes open different motion systems. Per-track Length sets Auto, 1 Bar, 2 Bars, or 4 Bars looping. Speed scales playback from 0.25x to 4.00x while the host tempo is running. Back turns a loop into a forward-and-return gesture. Velocity Random and Chance add looseness and omission without losing the underlying shape.
The interface shows the same behavior visually: hand-drawn paths, pulsing nodes, live playheads, note labels, and motion borders that light up while a lane is sounding. Header and footer dice buttons make it fast to discover new path shapes and parameter combinations, while 32 preset states give you starting points from minimal duos and overlap layers to chaotic loops, mixed meters, and wide multi-lane spreads.
Use it for animated chord figures, irregular bass motion, generative melodic gestures, layered polyphonic systems, rhythmic accidents with structure, and performance-driven MIDI that would be tedious to sequence note by note.
