A Simple, Four-Day Rhythm

Each week unfolds in the same gentle way:

• Day 1: Choose 4–6 new or noteworthy words; your child copies them with care
• Day 2: Transcription + writing their own sentences using the week’s words
• Day 3: Dictation (if they’re ready) and a drawing inspired by the reading
• Day 4: Written narration—or a drawing and oral retelling, if that feels more natural right now

This is not about doing it all perfectly. Some children will ease into written narration quickly, others will need more time. This notebook meets them where they are.
