he True Story of Davos

Barbara Erskine is a media and communications specialist. Her work consists of establishing relationships with targeted media; launching initiatives; and bringing the right kind of attention to new projects—including defining the message and branding. From New York, where she worked with the French government, she moved to Paris and became the “right-hand man” of Flora Lewis, Foreign Affairs Columnist, at the New York Times Paris Bureau. In 1990, she joined the World Economic Forum in Geneva where was Director and Member of the Executive Board for 10 years, leading the media outreach and many special projects. Upon leaving the Forum, she was named European Editor of Wired Magazine.

Three things you will learn:

1) Where was the World Economic Forum in 1990 and how it became an international must;

2) Behind the scenes at Davos;

3) Building media relationships.
