BEFORE THE UNIVERSE BEGAN. Book 1 - 7

Before the Beginning

The Creator Before Creation

By Steven White | Book One in The Creator Vision Series

Before there was time, before there were stars, before the universe began, there was God. What moved Him to create?

In Before the Beginning, Steven White invites you to explore the question at the heart of creation: Why did God create anything at all?

Drawing on more than sixty years of Bible study, reflection, and a lifelong fascination with the natural world, Steven presents his understanding of creation as the unfolding of God’s eternal purpose. From the birth of the universe to the coming of Jesus Christ and the transforming work of the Holy Spirit, he traces a central conviction: God desires a family of people who freely choose to know Him, love Him, and reflect His character.

Written in a warm, personal style, this Christian e-book brings together Scripture, observations of creation, and thoughtful questions about faith, freedom, and spiritual growth. It invites you to consider how the vastness of the universe can deepen your appreciation of the Creator and how His purpose connects with your own life.

What you’ll explore

Across nine chapters, you’ll consider:

• The eternal Creator: Who was God before time, space, matter, and energy existed?
• Creation and purpose: Why would a God who lacks nothing choose to create?
• A universe prepared for life: How order, natural laws, and gradual development reflect the author’s understanding of God’s wisdom.
• The gift of life: Life’s origin in God and its capacity to grow, adapt, and diversify.
• Humanity’s spiritual journey: The development of understanding, moral responsibility, and readiness to receive God’s revelation.
• God’s progressive revelation: How the patriarchs, the Law, and the prophets prepared the way for Christ.
• Jesus and the Father’s heart: Christ’s revelation of God’s compassion, mercy, and unconditional love.
• The Holy Spirit’s continuing work: The lifelong transformation of hearts, minds, and character.
• God’s ultimate purpose: A family of people who willingly grow into the likeness of Christ.

Read, reflect, and grow.

Each chapter includes reflection questions to help you pause, examine the Scriptures, and connect the themes with your daily life. Read at your own pace, alongside your Bible, or use the questions to encourage thoughtful conversation in a study group.

The book presents the author’s perspective that God’s creation unfolded through immense ages of purposeful development. Readers are warmly encouraged to examine his ideas for themselves through prayerful Bible study.

Who is this book for?

This book is for Christians who want to explore the deeper questions of creation, readers considering the relationship between faith and the natural world, and anyone seeking a fuller appreciation of God’s character and purpose.
