Procedural Drone Architect is a synthesis environment designed to create evolving ambient drones through deterministic procedural algorithms. The system blends real-time audio processing with high-level macro control, enabling precise sculpting of movement, tone, and texture.


Core Capabilities

Seed-based deterministic generation ensures that any text or random seed produces fully reproducible sonic structures. Eight macro parameters—Density, Motion, Instability, Chaos, Brightness, Texture, Space, and Evolution—map to complex procedural models that define timbral depth, spectral behavior, and spatial dynamics.


Synthesis Engine

The synthesis core features a multi-oscillator architecture supporting sine, triangle, sawtooth, and square waveforms with adjustable detuning and calibrated gain staging. Optional harmonic series generation creates mathematically stable overtone structures. Granular mode reshapes audio into micro-texture layers using overlapping windows. Real-time filtering provides lowpass and bandpass modes with responsive cutoff and resonance control.


Modulation & Effects

A dual-LFO modulation system independently drives filter motion and amplitude shifts. A long-term evolution engine introduces gradual spectral drift for organic behavior. The integrated effects chain includes convolution reverb, feedback delay, and final-stage limiting, delivering polished production-ready output.


Production Features

A real-time spectral visualization module displays dynamic frequency energy through a sci-fi inspired interface. Recording is available in 32-bit float or 16-bit PCM WAV. Five curated preset archetypes are included: Low Frequency Drone, Deep Space Drone, Binaural Drones, Relaxing Drones, and Dark Drones.


Technical Specifications

The entire system is written in pure JavaScript with no external libraries. Real-time audio is handled through the Web Audio API for minimal-latency performance. Custom SVG-based rotary controls allow precise interaction via mouse and wheel input. All algorithms are deterministic, ensuring perfect reproducibility. Modular internal architecture supports extensibility.
