Plantagenet Purples

This quilt was originally made many years ago to showcase a range of Rose & Hubble fabrics based on those from Plantagenet times and designed by Barbara Chainey. I recently remade the quilt in springtime yellows and greens having fallen in love with the daffodil fabric. The step-by-step photos were taken during the making of that quilt and the instructions follow that colourway. I have included a blank quilt for you to colour in with your own choice of fabrics/colours. Change the colours in the instructions to match yours – it will make things easier!
The finished quilt will measure about 40 inches - depending on how many borders you decide to add. I have put two in the yellow one but only one in the original purple one.
It is a quick and easy little wall-hanging to make with just two different types of (simple) unit; you just need to keep track of which way round everything goes!
