Some stuff went down.

And by “stuff,” I mean I’m currently in a stolen semi truck, bleeding a little, being hunted by someone, and sitting next to a woman who might be a serial killer, or worse, someone who thinks she’s the good guy.

And my kid is in the passenger seat.

So that’s where we’re at.

Remy doesn’t look stressed. That’s the part that’s fucking with me the most. We’ve got headlights trailing us, some mystery psycho calling her phone like they know exactly where we are, and she’s driving like this is just another Tuesday night errand.

Meanwhile I’m over here trying to figure out if I just permanently ruined Blaire’s life.

Spoiler: probably.

Blaire found her little collection too. Maps. Names. Patterns. The kind of shit that turns a bad situation into something way bigger than I signed up for. And Remy? She didn’t even try to hide it.

That’s when it clicked.

This isn’t random.

This is what she does.

And somehow… we’re part of it now.

I keep telling myself I just need to get Blaire out. That I can fix this if I stay calm, make the right move, be the adult for once.

But every time I look at Remy the way she drives, the way she talks, the way she looks at me like she already knows what I’m going to do before I do it

I get this feeling.

Like I’m not in control anymore.

Like maybe I never was.

And the worst part?

I don’t know if she’s the thing that’s going to get us killed…

or the only reason we’re still alive.
