Cro-Knit 1

Instructions for a girl's matinee set comprising of a matinee jacket, bonnet and bootees. You will need to be able to both KNIT AND CROCHET to complete this pattern.  The areas shown in multi colours are crochet, whilst the plain steel grey colour areas are knitted.  As I class myself as a beginner crocheter, this pattern is easier to do than it looks.  The crochet areas are purely a mix of double crochet and trebles, whilst the knitted areas are worked in stocking stitch.  However, you will need to be able to pick up knitted stitches to complete the whole set.

You will need:

15-16” or 37.5-40cm Height (Approx 2.5-4lb Prem) Size

100g 4ply yarn in colour A, 100g in colour B and 100g in colour C, 3 buttons, 2m ribbon for bootees and bonnet, embellishments of your choice, 3 stitch holders, 1 x 2.75mm crochet hook, 1 x 3.25mm hook for the bootees only, 1 x pr 2.75mm needles making a tension of 30sts and 38 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

16-17” or 40-42.5cm Height (Approx 3-5lb Prem) Size

100g 4ply yarn in colour A, 100g in colour B and 100g in colour C, 3 buttons, 2m ribbon for bootees and bonnet, embellishments of your choice, 3 stitch holders, 1 x 3.25mm crochet hook, 1 x 4mm hook for the bootees only, 1 x pr 3.25mm needles making a tension of 28sts and 36 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

18-19” or 45-47.5cm Height (Approx 5-7lb Newborn) Size

100g 4ply yarn in colour A, 100g in colour B and 150g in colour C, 3 buttons, 2m ribbon for bootees and bonnet, embellishments of your choice, 3 stitch holders, 1 x 3.75mm crochet hook, 1 x 4.5mm hook for the bootees only, 1 x pr 3.75mm needles OR dk yarn and 1 x 3.25mm crochet hook, 1 x 3.75mm hook for the bootees only, 1 x pr 3.25mm needles making a tension of 26sts and 34 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

20-21” or 50-52.5cm Height (Approx 8-10lb Newborn) Size

100g dk yarn in colour A, 100g in colour B and 150g in colour C, 3 buttons, 2m ribbon for bootees and bonnet, embellishments of your choice, 3 stitch holders, 1 x 3.75mm crochet hook, 1 x 4.5mm hook for the bootees only, 1 x pr 3.75mm needles making a tension of 24sts and 32 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.

22” or 55cm Height (0-3 Months) Size

100g dk yarn in main colour, 100g in colour B and 150g in colour C, 3 buttons, 2m ribbon for bootees and bonnet, embellishments of your choice, 3 stitch holders, 1 x 4mm crochet hook, 1 x 5mm hook for the bootees only, 1 x pr 4mm knitting needles making a tension of 22sts and 30 rows to 10cm square over knitted stocking stitch.

This pattern has been designed by myself so it is entirely in UK terminology. It does not follow the usual ‘shop bought’ format. There are 7 printed pages with clear and easy to follow row by row instructions. All my patterns are tested by independent knitters before they are released, so every effort is made so that they come to you error free.
