This course introduces how drones are used in professional inspection work, focusing on when aerial drones can provide a safer alternative to traditional access methods like roof climbing. You’ll become familiar with the main types of commercially available drones and how they are used to support different inspection and documentation needs in the field. The course also covers key FAA requirements for commercial drone operations, including certification, registration, and basic operational rules that govern safe and legal flight
Expanded Drone Operations
This course also explores how drones can be used beyond roof inspections, highlighting their role in capturing broader site conditions and supporting general facility awareness. You’ll learn how drones can assist with documenting areas that are difficult, time-consuming, or unsafe to access manually, while improving overall visibility of a worksite. The focus includes how aerial imaging can support general inspection workflows, improve situational awareness, and provide additional perspectives that may not be visible from ground level, expanding the practical value of drone use in field operations.
