Nervous System Regulation Workbook
Your heart speeds up over an email. Your jaw is tight before you notice you're clenching it. You're exhausted, but sitting still feels impossible — you sit down and immediately get up. You over-react, then feel ashamed of how big the reaction was. That's fight-or-flight — your nervous system stuck in the on position — and no amount of thinking your way out of it seems to work.
The Nervous System Regulation Workbook is a calm, body-based workbook built around one repeatable sequence you can actually remember when you're activated — the SETTLE Method. It's polyvagal- and somatic-informed, with a plain, honest voice and real structure. Not a stack of one-line journal prompts.

★ THE SETTLE METHOD
Six steps, in order — you come down the ladder one rung at a time:
• S — See the state (name it: ventral, sympathetic, or dorsal)
• E — Exhale long (a longer out-breath is the physical brake on your heart rate)
• T — Touch base (feet on the floor, five senses, back in the room)
• T — Tremble it off (discharge the surge — shake, push, move; the step people skip)
• L — Look for safe (scan the room, name the cues that say "okay, right now")
• E — Ease back in (one small action, then rate your activation again — it moved)
Two minutes when activation is mild. Ten when it's loud. The more worksheets you fill, the faster your system learns the way back.
