Harbor 74

Harbor 74 is a software drum machine combining eight synthesized percussion voices with an editable, evolving pattern sequencer.

Kick, Snare, Closed Hi-Hat, Open Hi-Hat, Low Tom, High Tom, Rim, and Clap each have ten sound controls. Shape tuning, decay, filtering, transient character, pitch or spread, saturation, level, pan, room send, and attack. Eight complete drum kits provide different starting points without replacing the rhythm.

The pattern editor holds four bars with up to 16 steps per drum per bar. Gate, Velocity, and Lock modes let you place hits, adjust their strength, and preserve selected steps during regeneration. Follow keeps the editor on the playing bar and starts enabled. Bar selection, copy, paste, clear, and pattern undo support direct editing.

The Arranger combines 16 rhythm families with seed, density, swing, accents, ghost notes, fills, double strokes, and timing drift. Automatic evolution revisits unlocked steps at phrase boundaries, while Anchor Guard preserves the rhythm family's core accents. DAW Follow uses the host transport and tempo; local Run provides independent audition playback.

Per-drum room sends feed a stereo room effect, followed by console saturation and output controls. A live waveform shows the actual output. The preset browser contains 64 complete sound-and-rhythm programs, and external MIDI can trigger the same percussion voices directly.
