This is a digital PDF sewing pattern.

*Note: For this "zero-waste" sewing pattern, there is only one pattern piece - the pocket. These pants are constructed using two rectangles to minimize fabric waste. This pattern utilizes the negative space created by cutting out the pockets. See page 2 of the pattern instructions for rectangle size requirements, and page 6 of the pattern instructions for cutting layout.

The Tyler Trousers are a high-rise, wide-leg pant with thoughtful design details. Features include vertical seams along the back of the legs, an elastic waistband for maximum comfort, and patch pockets. These pants have minimal seams. These can be easily cropped or made into shorts & the rise can be easily adjusted as well. Instructions include fitting modifications.

This pattern includes 22 different sizes ranging from 33 - 66 inches (84 - 168 cm) hip circumference. The size chart reflects finished garment measurements. Select a size with a finished hip measurement that is at least 2 inches larger than your hip measurement. (*The waist measurement is the same as the hip measurement before elastic is inserted. The elastic waistband feature enables you to customize the waistband to easily fit your specific waist size.)

Included are 3 files: one PDF file for the sewing instructions, one PDF file formatted for printing the pattern at home (scaled to 7.5x10” (19.05 x 25.4 cm) to allow for a margin that works for both US letter size and A4 (4 pages), and one PDF formatted to be printed at a copy shop (A0 - 33.1 x 46.8 inches / 841 x 1189 mm). When printing your pattern, make sure that you set the print scale to 100%, and make sure “scale to fit” is not selected. Print the first page. Measure the test square to make sure the scale is correct before printing the remaining pages.

Using Layers:
Each size is separated into its own layer. This way you can print only what you need.
1) Open Adobe Acrobat Reader.
2) Select the Layers Panel.
3) Click on they eye icon to unselect a layer.
Click it again to display it. Click to unselect all layers that are not your size if you wish to hide them.

Assembling your pattern (if printing at home):
Each pattern piece page will have a letter & number in the bottom right corner. Once all pages have been printed, arrange them in 2 rows. The first row should include pages A1 & A2, and the second row should include pages B1 & B2. Either trim or fold along the rectangular borders and tape all of the pieces together so that the pattern piece lines match up.

Once your pattern is taped, select your size from the size chart included in the instructions. The size labels are on page A2 of the pattern. Carefully cut out your size.
