Frankie is a normal fourteen-year-old boy, enjoying baseball and pulling pranks until Melanie moves in next door. She may wear sleeveless t-shirts, jeans with holes in the knees, and high-top Converse tennis shoes, but he falls for her all the same.

Together, with their friend Beanie, they soon find out Mel’s father had been at the crash site and smuggled some of the alien material out. He is dead now and it remains hidden somewhere. They work to unravel the clues to where, but soon learn others are after it.

It puts them in terrible danger—and only Melanie can find a way out.
