Understanding & Supporting Neurodivergent Needs
This course is designed to empower educators, parents, caregivers, and professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to support neurodivergent individuals effectively and empathetically. With an emphasis on understanding the unique experiences and needs of those with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, dyslexia, sensory processing differences, and other neurodivergent profiles, this course encourages a strengths-based approach to support.
Participants will explore the neurological, psychological, and social factors that contribute to neurodivergent experiences and how these can impact communication, learning, emotional regulation, and social interaction. Through research-backed information and real-world examples, this course will cover practical approaches to fostering inclusive environments, creating accessible learning plans, and employing effective communication strategies.
Additionally, participants will learn to identify common sensory and emotional needs and discover ways to adapt spaces and expectations to create supportive, empowering environments.
