NAA P-51d Mustang

The P-51D Mustang was a legendary American fighter aircraft used during World War II. Known for its speed, range, and agility, it played a crucial role in securing Allied air superiority. The P-51D variant, introduced in 1944, featured a bubble canopy for better visibility, six .50 caliber machine guns, and a powerful Packard-built Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. It was especially effective as a long-range bomber escort, helping reduce losses during bombing missions over Europe. Its performance and impact earned it a reputation as one of the best fighter planes of the war.
