Goal Setting Theory Leads to a Dead End Road

In these essays, a critical analysis is undertaken of Goal Setting Theory as formulated by Edwin Locke of the University of Maryland & Gary Latham of the University of Toronto. The book comprises of three essays that analyze multiple facets of goal setting.

Ultimately, the author argues that goal-setting is simplistic without acknowledging the organizational complexity of organizations, it is pernicious without studying the psychological effect it may have on an individual's relationship with his subconscious, & it is detrimental to the overall interest, continuity, & purpose of an organization including business enterprises.
