28 - Mila SLWC (Chapter 1)

Mila kam ins Krankenhaus, weil sie Beschwerden in ihrem rechten Fuß hatte. Sie erklärte, dass die Schmerzen sie schon seit etwa sechs Wochen störten. Nachdem der Arzt sie untersucht und einige Tests gemacht hatte, stellte er fest, dass sich eine beginnende Stressfraktur entwickelt hatte. Es war nichts Ernstes, aber die Verletzung musste stabilisiert werden, damit sie sich nicht verschlimmerte.

Zur Sicherheit empfahl der Arzt, den Knöchel vollständig ruhigzustellen. So würde der Fuß geschützt sein und genügend Zeit haben, richtig zu heilen. Deshalb wurde Mila anschließend in den Gipsraum gebracht, wo man ihr einen Gipsverband anlegen würde.

Am Anfang war sie ein wenig nervös. Schließlich hatte sie noch nie zuvor einen Gipsverband getragen und wusste nicht genau, was sie erwarten sollte. Als der Orthopäde das bemerkte, beruhigte er sie und erklärte ihr ruhig den Zweck jedes einzelnen Materials, das für den Verband verwendet wurde. Damit sie sich wohler fühlte, legte er ihr sogar die verschiedenen Materialien in die Hände, damit sie sie sich aus der Nähe ansehen konnte.

Mila wurde neugierig auf jeden einzelnen Schritt des Prozesses und fand es interessant zu beobachten, wie der Gipsverband vorbereitet und angelegt wurde. Während der Behandlung fühlte sie sich entspannt, unterhielt sich mit dem Arzt, lachte ein paar Mal und hatte schließlich sogar Spaß an der ganzen Erfahrung.

Am Ende des Verfahrens scherzte Mila mit dem Arzt:

„Ich liebe meinen neuen kleinen Stiefel. Jetzt müssen Sie auch das andere Bein eingipsen, damit es zusammenpasst.“

Der Arzt lachte nur über ihren Kommentar und bat sie, noch ein wenig zu warten, damit der Gipsverband etwas trocknen konnte, bevor sie nach Hause gehen durfte.

Mila arrived at the hospital complaining of discomfort in her right foot. She explained that the pain had been bothering her for about six weeks. After examining her and running a few tests, the doctor on duty identified the beginning of a stress fracture. It wasn’t anything serious, but it required care to prevent the injury from getting worse.

As a precaution, the doctor recommended complete immobilization of the ankle. This would protect the foot and give it enough time to heal properly. Mila was then taken to the casting room.

At first, she felt a little anxious. After all, she had never had a cast before and didn’t really know what to expect. Noticing this, the orthopedic doctor reassured her and calmly explained the purpose of each material used in the immobilization process. To help her feel more comfortable, he even placed each item in her hands so she could take a closer look.

Mila became curious about every step of the process and enjoyed watching how the cast was prepared and applied. During the procedure, she felt relaxed, chatted with the doctor, shared a few laughs, and ended up really enjoying the experience.

At the end of the procedure, Mila joked with the doctor, “I love my new little boot. Now you’ll have to do the other leg so they match too.” The doctor simply laughed at her comment and asked her to wait a little longer for the cast to dry before she could go home.
