Lose Belly Fat

At this point in time there are precious few people who have not heard how bad belly fat is. This layer of extra weight is much worse health wise and it is known as visceral fat. Visceral fat is deeper than the jiggling stuff on your arms and legs, in fact it can affect your heart, liver, lungs and other internal organs. -Dance- If you want to get some exercise but most ideas seem daunting or boring consider taking a dance class or joining a dance based exercise group.

-Jogging/ Running- you can run, even if you are slightly to moderately overweight. Just remember to stretch properly, wear appropriate foot wear and build up slowly.

-Activity- do you enjoy sports? Any activity that gets your heart pumping and sweat running is good for combatting belly fat.

Biggest Myth

You will likely run across numerous advertisements that claim to have the perfect belly fat busting exercise. Unfortunately, targeted exercises will not trim the fat from your waist. Consider the first time you started noticing weight gain, did that donut or cheesecake you ate go directly to your belly? Of course not, weight comes on gradually, for some people it will be the hips first, for others the arms or other parts of the body. Eventually you will notice body fat has increased overall, which is the same way you will remove it!

Targeted Exercise

Why then does targeted exercise seem to work? In most cases sit ups, twists or crunches are not actually reducing the belly fat but toning the muscles in your abdomen. This gives the appearance of lost fat, and you may be losing some fat as well, but you would have lost the fat with any type of exercise that burns calories.
