Trauma Camp Basics
Trauma Camp Basics The Foundational Training for Trauma-Informed Educators
You became an educator to make a difference. Trauma Camp Basics gives you the knowledge, self-awareness, and practical skills to make that difference — even with your most challenging students.
This foundational professional development program walks you through the four essential stages of becoming a trauma-informed practitioner: Story, Science, Self-Awareness, and Skills.
In 10+ hours of on-demand training, you'll move from understanding why students behave the way they do to knowing exactly what to do about it.
What you'll learn:
- Story — Explore the roots of trauma through both scientific and Indigenous frameworks, uncover the core experiences that wound and heal, and understand how adversity reshapes the developing brain.
- Science — Decode the neurobiology behind student behavior. Learn how the brain develops, how trauma rewires stress-response systems, and how to read what's really happening underneath even the most disruptive moments in your classroom.
- Self-Awareness — This work starts with you. Examine your own relationship to emotions, identify your Window of Tolerance, and develop the internal boundaries that protect you and your students.
- Skills — Build the practical toolkit you need. From de-escalation techniques and relational interventions to rupture-and-repair strategies and engagement frameworks — these are tools you can use the moment you walk back into your classroom.
Each lesson includes:
- 7–15 minute video lessons, designed to fit into a real educator's schedule
- Worksheets and audio components
- Fully asynchronous — learn anytime, anywhere
- Certificates of Completion available upon request
Because the most powerful thing in any classroom isn't the curriculum. It's YOU.
