History of the NBA 1949-1966

So, what did the NBA look like when it began? Answer: awkward! No shot clock, no Black players until 1950, low-scoring game with lots of fouls, and rare/brief national coverage. On the horizon: Bob Pettit, Bill Russell, Elgin Baylor, Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West, and Oscar Robertson to name a few.
