HELIOSYNC MERIDIAN — FUNCTIONING WEB WATCH — VERSION 1.0

WHAT YOU HAVE

A functioning civil-time and apparent-solar-time watch, implemented with a scalable vector dial and locally calculated astronomy. The hands, solar-noon window, date, equation-of-time pointer, digital readouts, sunrise/sunset, and Sun-bearing marker are calculated from one selected instant and location.

PHONE HOME SCREEN

On iPhone/iPad: open the hosted watch in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. Enable Open as Web App if offered.

On Android: open it in Chrome, then use Install app or Add to Home screen from the browser menu. A direct installation prompt appears only when the browser offers one.

Installation and Home Screen options vary by browser and operating system.

USE LIKE A WATCH

- Watch view hides the controls and emphasizes the dial and digital readouts. Use Exit watch view or Escape to return.

- Keep screen awake requests your browser's screen wake lock. It works only on supported devices while visible and may be released by power management.

- Show/hide the seconds hand and choose 12-hour or 24-hour civil readouts. The solar-noon window always uses 24-hour time to avoid ambiguity.

- Print readings opens the browser print dialog for a snapshot of the dial and calculated values.

- This is not a phone lock-screen replacement and does not guarantee background operation.

READING THE DIAL

Silver hour/minute hands: civil time.

Thin pale seconds hand: device-clock seconds, optionally hidden.

Gold Sun hand: apparent solar time, one revolution per 24 solar hours. Noon is 12 at the top; midnight is 00 at the bottom.

Date window: civil date for the selected time zone.

Solar-noon window: calculated local meridian crossing, shown in civil time and rounded to the nearest minute.

Equation-of-time gauge: apparent minus mean solar time, with a -20 to +20 minute range.

Orange bezel marker: calculated solar azimuth, relative to the manually selected top-of-phone bearing. It dims when the Sun is below the geometric horizon.

The bezel is a diagram/manual direction reference, not a sensor-driven compass. Default 0 degrees means north-up. It does not automatically align with the real world as you turn your phone.
