Meditator
Meditator (VST3, CLAP, AUv2)
Meditator is a MIDI effect for calm, unhurried phrases — polyrhythmic bounce voices that turn a few held notes into soft melody and rhythm without hard step programming.
This product started as a personal tool. I wanted something that could settle the mind: gentle motion, breathing rates, and healing-toned chords I could sit with. Building that for myself became a full plugin — a small space for calm, relax, and quiet sessions rather than a maximalist generator.
Hold a few tones (or draw them on the on-screen piano in Generator mode) and up to 64 voices travel and fire on bounce. BASE and SPREAD shape free-run speed or host-sync period; P.OFFSET staggers phase without changing rate. STACK adds octaves above each base note, VOICE MODE chooses Auto, Round Robin, Up, Down, Random, or Up Down, and CHANCE thins hits so the field can stay sparse. Duration, Velocity, and VEL RND shape the MIDI output; TRANS shifts pitch for the host only; SUSTAIN sends CC 64 when you want the pedal under long gates. SYNC locks motion to the DAW playhead; ENDS switches BOTH or ONE for how each cycle resolves.
Fifteen views reframe the same engine: Bounce Columns, Telegraph Wires, Orrery Align, Wall Ricochet, Paper Cranes, Pendulum Wave, Lily Hoppers, Wave Rowers, Sparkler Wands, Star Polygon, Clock Hands, DNA Rungs, Drumhead Modes, Carousel Ride, and Lanes. MIDI MODE switches Generator (piano chord tones) and Arpeggiator (live held input). Thirty-two presets lean toward soft recovery names and slow spreads, and a header dice randomizes BASE, SPREAD, P.OFFSET, and VOICES for gentle discovery. The keyboard lights the last fired pitch with a small follower, so you can see which tone just spoke.
Use it for ambient beds, meditation and focus sessions, slow arpeggios over held chords, soft polyrhythms that stay readable, generative calm clouds, and any MIDI workflow where the goal is space rather than density.
