Gauge:

27 sts & 32 rounds = 10cm / 4” over Razor Shell Pattern on 3.5mm needles after blocking.

Needles:

3.5mm / US 4 circular needle, 80cm / 32” or 100cm / 40” length (for body and yoke)

3.5mm / US 4 DPNs or long circular needle (if working magic loop for sleeves)

3.25mm / US 3 circular needle, 40cm / 16” length (for neckband)

Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.

Notions:

4 stitch markers (one of which should be unique for beg of round), waste yarn or stitch holder (for holding live sts), tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Notes:

This sweater is worked in one piece from the bottom up. The ¾-length sleeves are joined to the body at the underarm and a simultaneous set-in sleeve construction is used to shape the upper body.

This design requires the knitter to keep the lace pattern correct in each section of the work while working shaping, as well as keeping a stripe sequence correct. The Razor Shell pattern can be worked as a half repeat by only having one of the yarn overs of the repeat and replacing the double decrease at the centre with a single decrease (k2tog/ssk depending which end of the pattern the decrease is worked). If there aren’t enough stitches for a half repeat then just work the remaining sts in G st.

If you wish to adjust the sleeve or body lengths you will need to adjust the Stripe Sequence so that they meet on the same row at the yoke.
